What does this teach me regarding my ministry to the community?

I am thinking now that my teaching on Sunday mornings should be directed more to the "crowd" as an evangelistic approach. The teaching can be for the crowd and the disciples at the same time.

The teaching I give for the crowd can be useful for the disciples, but the teaching intended for the disciples may not be applicable to the crowd.

So, I need to teach for the crowd and the disciples on Sunday morning and have different teaching options for the disciples. I can give them deeper teaching at another time.

What do you think?

Re: Wise Leaders Listen to Old Men

Wow! I hope that any experiences you've had in the church won't keep you from following Jesus Christ. I've found that anyone who's been in the church for any length of time has had at least one "bad experience." Andy Stanley did a great series on "My Bad Church Experience."
BTW, have we ever met?

Re: A Mosque on Every Corner, the Power of Prayer & Other Reflections on Egypt

Hi Steve, God bless you and the work you're doing. I found this entry while trying to track down Shaddy. We met years ago when he was at a church in Lake Mary, FL. I'm interested in knowing more about #8 and how Israel is consistently persecuting Arabic-speaking Christians. Thanks!

Re: Don’t Quit

My first second third....

Re: Don’t Quit

Discipleship at Home

Re: Don’t Quit

Discipleship at Home! :)

Re: My Top 10 Most Influential Books

Number 7 on your list looks like an interesting read. The inbreeding and shunning and again, cultish behaviors practiced there from the very beginning have kept members locked in a system of abuse. If they weren't able to read about the vast majority of Christians from other walks of faith - telling them the things they are being told are abusive and corrupt, it would still be going on. It needs to stop. There are innocent people being deceived and robbed of their money and time.

Re: A Framework for Restoring the Fallen and Fixing Bad Theology

What if that friend theologically believes he hears directly from God and you don't, and therefore any disagreements result in you being accused of being demonically influenced? Mistakes happen, sure enough, and speaking from my situation, there were more than mistakes. There were patterns of disobedience and disregard....which sound like what this ministry is dealing with. I'm glad that MD has taken a pause and I hope there is a heart change on his part...this is a heart matter. I don't believe speaking on the matter is a "trashing of Jesus' bride." Uncovering the situation brings light to the matter and mature Christ followers can do more than say it's none of their business...they could pray and lead others to do the same. Those that wish to cover and excuse are called to question, in my humble opinion. Makes me wonder what they are covering and excusing in secret. If I sound hurt, I'm not...If I sound disgruntled, I'm not. Just tired of "Christ followers" not following Christ. Tired of innocent people being hurt. Tired of playing church and not being the Church. Tired of excuses and no action or accountability. Tired of the trashing of the reputations of Christians...those Christ followers who have built a life of service to our King...only to be lumped with those whom have built a life of service to themselves. #comelordjesus
